Membership Body Boards: Nuances and Leading Practices

£50This online panel event will disseminate insights and learnings from NEDs members on their experiences of serving boards of membership bodies.
This event is for you if you:
- serve on the board of a membership body and would like to calibrate experiences with fellow NEDs
- have recently joined the board of a membership body board and are familiarising yourself with the nuances of the role
- or if you are exploring expanding your NED portfolio to new types of organisation
Insights will focus on NED perspectives related to the nuances, challenges and leading practices specific to membership body boards.
Invited NED speakers include:
- Bill Butler – Bill is currently Chair of Propertymark Ltd, the leading membership body for property agents and a board member at Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board. He was previously a NED at The Law Society, GPDF Ltd and the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. He was Chief Executive of the UK private security regulator, the Security Industry Authority and held senior roles at the Gambling, Healthcare and Audit Commissions. He has been an accountant since 1982 and was admitted as a Chartered Security Professional in 2014.
- Anthony Blackman – Anthony joined his first professional body board in 2013 at the age of 29 and has been a member of 15 boards to date. His current roles include Council Member for the British Contact Lens Association and Independent Board member for IOSH (and chair of their Awarding Organisation). He recently joined the Family Mediation Standards Board as a Lay Member (also Chairing their Complains Panel). Alongside his NED portfolio, Anthony’s day job is in education, where he is the managing director of a training and assessment company.
